About Us

Richardson Real Heroes
Honoring Silent Generosity

The City of Richardson is often recognized for its outstanding attributes and exceptional city staff and services. Many awards and recognitions are presented year after year in Richardson highlighting the highly visible people who have made contributions to our city. The Richardson Real Heroes program focuses on honoring those who provide exemplary service(s) to the community with little opportunity for recognition.

These unsung heroes are the backbone of our Richardson community. To honor these important people, the Real Heroes Award was created in 2009*. Each year we seek nominations for Real Heroes who represent the spirit of volunteerism within City of Richardson and Richardson schools.

Richardson’s residents are the nominating committee. You know who our quiet contributors are. These unsung heroes are your friends, neighbors, and includes students in grades 9-12. We ask you to participate in the process of recognizing these people and the wonderful things they do to improve the quality of life of our community one day after another.
